For thousands of years, eclipses were triggering waves of fear and panic among humans all over the world. The sudden disappearance of the Sun or the Moon were thought to be the doing of some Gods eating them and our ancestors correlated their occurrence with natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods or hurricanes. In the case of a solar eclipse, the temperature at the surface of the Earth can locally and suddenly drop by 5°C, bringing darkness in the middle of the day for several minutes… Imagine for a moment how scary it must have been to live such situations without knowing their physical explanations!
Nowadays, the way eclipses occur is well understood and most Humans on this planet don’t have any fear of it anymore. However, by losing our interest in the cosmic dance, by taking it for granted, most of us forgot that those events are highly charged energetic portals, some kinds of Full Moon or New Moon on steroids with effects lasting up to 6 months! When this energy is well harnessed, the opportunity for growth is immense and allows us to propel ourselves faster and further on our life path. How could we miss such an opportunity?!
The next eclipse, coming on Friday 19th of November at 9:57 AM CET, will be a lunar eclipse. That means that the Moon will briefly disappear, the Earth shortly passing in front of the Sun. It might not be visible in Europe since the morning will already be well ahead. But don’t be fooled. Its energy will be present and will influence anything present on Earth, regardless of the geographical position!
This Lunar Eclipse is the first of a series of eclipses that will take place on the axis Taurus-Scorpio. The Moon, in Taurus, will trigger our needs for safety, peace and abundance, while the Sun, in Scorpio, will activate our thirst for intensity, transformation and drama. Our beings might therefore be pulled in opposite directions, giving us a hard time to integrate those radically different energies.
On a social level, the world economy, finance and the general concepts of values will be shaken hard by this series of eclipses until October 28th 2023 (the last eclipse of the series). Over this period, our society is going to experience massive changes in areas such as economy, finances and stock market, insurances, housing, natural resources, food, etc. But this is another story and we’ll see how it unrolls itself in the months to come. Spoiler: the breakdown will most probably start in the USA… “To be continued”.
Lunar eclipses also play a role in our relationships in the large sense of the word: relationship to others, to ourselves, to money, to food, to work… The energy can therefore influence many areas of your life, but the most affected ones will be defined by the houses of your natal chart where the Moon and the Sun will find themselves during the eclipse.
The mission will be to honor your needs and desires, to bring yourself peace and safety while addressing intimate, intense topics and possibly dealing with dramatic situations.
Now, read again the last sentence, and think about an area of your life where these two opposite dimensions have to merge..
Sexuality, of course. To use this portal in the best way possible, you will at least need to reflect upon sexuality and the way you approach it in general. Taurus is the pure physical embodiment, the delights of the senses, sensuality and orgasm happening in a safe and well-known space. Scorpio is deeply emotional and symbolises the unknown, the animalistic pulsions and desires to fuse with another being, the erotism, the plays of power. How do you manage to express and live your desires safely while exposing yourself completely and vulnerably to other beings? By setting healthy limits and boundaries, by speaking openly about what’s acceptable or not for you. Any open conversation about healthy boundaries in sexuality will be more than welcome under this eclipse.
Take the time to think about everything I mentioned in this post and start preparing yourself for the eclipse of Friday. Remember: this is a powerful portal allowing us to set intentions with an effect far more important than a normal Full Moon! So take the time to sit with yourself and reflect upon what kind of old patterns and/or behaviours you should let go. Believe me, this is absolutely worth it.
